The Western Australian Centre for Health Promotion Research (WACHPR) at Curtin University has been investigating the prevalence, type and characteristics of bullying incidents in Western Australian primary schools since 1999, culminating in the design and implementation of two, 3-year bullying interventions designed to reduce reported bullying. This presentation will discuss the WACHPR's bullying intervention trials and successful strategies and their implication for the long-term mental, social and physical health of Western Australia's children.
| Stacey King is a Co-Director of Curtin University's Western Australian Centre for Health Promotion Research. Stacey graduated from Curtin University with an Undergraduate degree in Health Promotion. She has worked with Local Government Authorities in WA in the area of community road safety before returning to Curtin University and the WA Centre for Health Promotion Research. Her role at Curtin has encompassed Consultancy Manager, Sessional Lecturer and currently Project Director of the Friendly Schools Friendly Families Project. Her interests lie in mental health promotion and injury control. Stacey is currently completing her Masters Degree at Curtin University, and is an Associate Investigator on two research projects currently in submission for funding. |
