Venue: University of Notre Dame (Fremantle) – Room:ND4/203 (Tannock Hall, cnr Croke and Cliff St, Fremantle)
Who should attend?
- Undergraduate teacher education students and those recently graduated (within the last year).
- Students who have conducted research as part of a unit/s in their undergraduate education course and;
- Students who are interested in learning more about how to conduct and interpret research.
Format of the workshop
The teacher as researcher – peering into the future.
This workshop will introduce undergraduate students:
- to ways they can use their knowledge of research in their classrooms as a means to improve practice
- next steps to doing study at higher degree level
- opportunities to share findings of undergraduate research.
Students who want to share their research findings should prepare a title slide and slides describing:
- their research methods
- findings
- theoretical model (optional)
- implications and recommendations
Each participant will receive a participation certificate for attendance that identifies AITSL standards (for Professional Portfolio).
AITSL Standards
6.2 Engage in professional learning and improve practice – Understand the relevant and appropriate sources of professional learning for teachers.
7.4 Engage with professional teaching networks and broader communities – Understand the role of external professionals and community representatives in broadening teachers’ professional knowledge and practice.

- You can choose from over 40 research presentations on a range of educational issues such as literacy, inclusive practices, gender, sustainability and more across early childhood, primary, secondary and tertiary education.
The day concludes with a Networking Sundowner- an opportunity to meet and chat over some drinks and fabulous food.
